Making a Complaint

If you wish to make a complaint about Strathclyde Police or a member of Strathclyde Police you can do so in a number of ways:

  • personally at any police office.
  • by letter to a police office or to the Professional Standards Department at Force Headquarters, 173 Pitt Street, Glasgow.
  • by telephone , either to a police office or the Professional Standards Department (open Monday to Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm); telephone number 0141 532 2559.
  • by e-mail contactus@strathclyde.pnn.police.uk
  • by remote reporting form which can be accessed from this page.  Download and fill in the pdf form below and email to:
ProfessionalStandardsDepartment@strathclyde.pnn.police.uk  or you can fill in our online complaints form
  • if your complaint is in respect of a senior officer (assistant chief constable or above) contact the Strathclyde Police Authority

You may prefer to be represented by another person e.g. a solicitor, an elected representative, a community group, or some other organisation. You are perfectly entitled to be so represented.

However, at some point, we may require to take a statement from you personally. In that instance, you can, if you wish, be accompanied either by a friend or a representative.

If necessary we can arrange for an interpreter to be present to assist. If you are under 16 years of age you will be interviewed with a parent or other responsible adult present.
