Serious Assault - DrumchapelDetectives at West End CID are appealing for information after a 25-year old man was found seriously injured in Drumchapel on Sunday 1 November 2009. Around 10.55am on Sunday morning, a member of the public noticed the injured man walking along Airgold Drive, Drumchapel. Emergency services were called, who discovered the victim was suffering from a stab wound and immediately transferred him to the Western Infirmary. Medical updates confirm the man is in a stable condition. Appeal for informationPolice have been looking into the circumstances surrounding the assault since it took place, and believe the man was at a party in nearby Linkwood Crescent prior to him being found. Door to door enquiries have been ongoing since, and officers are keen to speak to anyone who attended a party in Linkwood Crescent on Saturday night. Detective Constable Craig Gibson said: “We believe the victim attended a party, possibly at number 39 Linkwood Crescent on Saturday night. At this time we do not know how many people were there or the circumstances of what has happened, however this man has received a stab wound and someone at the party may have information that could help the investigation. “Unfortunately we do not know if the man received the injury at the party or after he left, therefore I would also appeal to the public if they were in the areas of Linkwood Crescent and Airgold Drive where he was found on Sunday morning, and saw an injured man. Any information that could help piece together his movements would be helpful.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact CID at West End Police Office on telephone number 0141 532 3559 or alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
