Man Assaulted Within His Home - Arden, Glasgow

Detectives at Pollok are appealing for witnesses after a 44-year-old man was assaulted within his home in Kilvaxter Drive, Arden on the evening of Sunday 1 November 2009.

Around 2100 hours on Sunday night, the man answered a knock on his door and was confronted by two males. They attacked him in his hallway and then ran off on foot.

The victim sustained serious head injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he has been detained. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Description of suspects

Both suspects are described as white males, aged 16 - 25 years, with shaved heads and were wearing hooded tops. No further description is available.

Appeal for information

Detective Constable John Dowds, who is investigating this incident, said,

"This would appear to be a completely unprovoked and cowardly attack on an innocent man within his home.Those responsible must be caught and I would urge anyone who has any knowledge of this incident or those responsible to come forward.

"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area of Kilvaxter Drive on Sunday evening and saw two males hanging about in the area or behaving in a suspicious manner to telephone the CID at Pollok on 0141 532 5659. Alternatively, telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained."
