Recruitment
Latest Update
The recruitment line for police officer applications is now open. Further information can be found in our Police Officers and How to Apply section.
We are Scotland's largest police force – with around 8,000 police officers covering 5,371 miles and a population of approximately 2.2 million. The force area offers an unrivalled variety of policing challenges within virtually every kind of landscape from city and town centres to suburban, rural and busy coastal communities.
Being part of such a large force brings fantastic opportunities in terms of lateral career development, specialisms and longer term potential for promotion.
Becoming a police officer is a lot harder than most people ever imagine – harder on your body, more taxing on your brain and probably more challenging than any job you've ever done before. However being a police officer is also a highly rewarding role and offers an excellent range of benefits.
We want to attract the very best applicants and while our selection processes are designed to be challenging, they help ensure Strathclyde only recruit the very best.
