Divisional snapshot

The division holds a population of 368,290 within a 1,321 square mile radius. It is a popular destination for tourists, who are drawn to the quality golf courses, leisure centres and many sites of historical interest.

There are three sub divisions in Ayrshire:

Chief Superintendent John Thomson is divisional commander and is responsible for local policing strategy. He is based at divisional headquarters in Kilmarnock.

Our community policing teams

There are 25 community policing teams in Ayrshire, each covering one or more multi-member council wards. The teams are co-ordinated by a central communities unit.

We want you to know who's on your team and how to contact us. Our officers are there to listen to you, to respond to your concerns, and to work with the community and partner agencies on long-term solutions to local problems.
